Job Description

Title: Staff Scientist - Molecular Biology

Location: 5 days/wk onsite - West Sacramento - M-F 9AM-5PM

Duration: 12M Contract w/ possible extension or conversion

PR: $42/hr

Must-haves:

BS degree in Biological Sciences
Strong working experience within Molecular Biology disciplines
3+ years of experience in a Molecular Biology Laboratory testing environment
Experience with Next Gen DNA Sequencing (NGS)
Experience with qPCR (quantitative polymerase chain reaction)
Demonstrated ability to perform complex data analysis is required.

Plusses:

Microscopy experience
Experience with Ion Torrent (Next gen DNA sequencing tool)

Job Description:

Performs routine and complex laboratory analyses involving sample receiving, processing, and result reporting
Assists in the development and verification of test methodologies
Assists in the resolution of technical problems
Provides training to laboratory personnel
Ensures instruments and equipment in the lab are functioning properly, performs equipment PM and schedules service
Participates in instrument validations
Utilizes good documentation practices (GDPs) and follows laboratory quality control and quality assurance policies
Complies with safety policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned
